Generally speaking, there are three kinds of methods for biogas purification, namely chemical absorption, physical purification and biological removal.
1. Chemical absorption. A chemical absorption mechanism is to use compound solution absorbent such as amine, alkali and alcohol to absorb acidic substances such as CO2 and H2S in biogas by acid-alkali neutralization reaction, and to absorb NH3 and other easily soluble gases such as water and alcohol. The strong adsorbents such as H_2, CO_2 and H_2S in biogas are adsorbed in the bed under certain pressure, while the weak adsorbents such as N_2 and CH_4? 3. Biological removal. Under certain conditions, the use of microbial growth and reproduction requires some impurity gases in biogas as nutrients, so as to achieve the purification of biogas.
At present, physicochemical method has been widely used and accumulated rich experience, but it has some shortcomings such as high operating cost, large investment, difficult regeneration, secondary pollution and so on. Biological method has many advantages, such as no catalyst and oxidant, no chemical sludge treatment, less pollution, low energy consumption, high efficiency, and recoverable elemental sulfur.
